Inspection & Property Management Tool
Not only did we fix and update the user flow for the iOS app, which is mainly used by renters to fill out an inspection. We also worked with the Rentcheck team to build out their web app for property managers and owners.
Improving the flow of the mobile app was just the first problem Rentcheck wanted us to solve. The next problem we dove into was in order to help them scale their business, an entire web application to manage inspections, properties and deposits. For a property manager or owner of a property, having all the documentation in one place is important, espessially as you grow your portfolio.
We built out an easy to use interface that mirrored the iOS platform for creating properties and inspections. After the creation process the web app really is the place to manage inspections and compare inspections. We built out both the desktop and mobile versions for this web application over a 2 month period.
Along with doing inspections a landlord or property manager needs to add properties in order to have inspections tied to a property location.
We also worked on making the entire flow of creating properties and inspection types smooth & efficient. Doing this on the web was a little easier as there is more real estate for multiple bed/bathroom scenarios.
Sorting, Searching, Simplifying
Working with sortable tables was important for users that had to manage 3-10 properties or multi-unit properties (think apt. buildings etc). We worked on providing a concise list view with just the necessary rows for easy searching & matching.

Post MVP / Version 2.0
After completing the initial MVP of the web app, and pushing all the iOS updates that were needed to the App Store. We dove in and designed for future iterations of the Rentcheck product.
We worked with the Head of Product to come up with the UI/UX for Inspection Comparison and approval which would initiate a direct deposit of tenants security deposit. If repairs or damages were recorded it was very easy for a property manager to keep a partial part of the security deposit for those repairs.
